Functions:
-To carry out obligations under the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT Agreement) of Vietnam for WTO members in transport field;
- To support domestic enterprises matters related to TBT in transport field;
- To organize or participate in reviewing, compiling of technical regulations.

Duties:
- Notification:

+ To notify Vietnam's obligations in transport field as required to WTO/TBT Vietnam Notification Authority and Enquiry Point;

+ To notify requirements related to TBT to compiling organizations of technical regulations under control of Ministry of Transport.

- Enquiry Point:

+ To receive and answer all reasonable questions, information on TBT from WTO/TBT Vietnam Notification Authority and Enquiry Point, domestic and foreign organizations, individuals;

+ To send to WTO/TBT Vietnam Notification Authority and Enquiry Point and WTO members' Notification Authority and Enquiry Point, questions or requests for providing of TBT documents relating to transport field;

+ To receive WTO members' notifications from WTO/TBT Vietnam Notification Authority and Enquiry Point and then forward to related bodies not later than 24 hours.

- To organize or participate in reviewing, compiling of technical regulations and standards.

- Others:

+ To ensure the TBT activities take effect;

+ To participate international cooperation activities on TBT;

+ To submit the way to deal with comments from WTO member countries on TBT to the Ministry of Transport;

+ To disseminate knowledge and conduct training on TBT;

+ To perform other tasks assigned by the Ministry of Transport.
